The Congress has now entered into active mode. The Congress has sent two senior leaders to Patna to keep mlAs united after the counting of votes.
The process of voting for 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar has concluded. The poll results are expected on November 10.
Exit polls after the polls are showing signs of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s farewell and the formation of a grand alliance led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Buoyed by the exit poll results, Congress is now fearful of the breakdown of its MLAs.
Congress Fearing the Breakdown of ‘MLAs’ Even Before Results
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has sent party general secretary Avinash Pande and Randeep Singh Surjewala to Patna. The two leaders have been entrusted with the responsibility of management in the post-election results.
According to sources, the exit poll predicts a close battle between the ruling JD (U)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Efforts can be made to buy and sell MLAs on behalf of the opposing camp. In view of this, the two leaders have been sent to Patna. The two leaders will stay in Bihar and maintain coordination with coalition partners.
The Grand Alliance comprises of rjd as well as Congress and left parties, while NDA consists of JD (U), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party Hum, Mukesh Sahni’s Developing Man Party (VIP).
If the battle remains close and the NDA reaches close to the magical figure of the 122 seats required for the majority, it can be tried to break into the opposition ranks. In such a situation, parties winning fewer seats will become more sensitive.
In view of this, Congress has already become vigilant. The Congress has made it clear to all its candidates not to join the victory procession in case of victory and to get the certificate and go directly to Patna.
According to sources, the Congress plans to place all its MLAs in a hotel in Patna. It is noteworthy that if the exit poll projections change in results, the Grand Alliance government is set to be there.
